A successful coder is one that evolves with the product. Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate to have been part of successful enterprises and failed startups — each experience unique and with its own lessons. And the most valuable lesson is this: No coder is an island. A good product is seldom a single person's effort, but the result of a team that communicates well. After over ten years of experience, I have honed my skills as a coder in every stage of a product, whether it's creating it from scratch, scaling it to support more workload, or maintaining it until its eventual retirement. But at the end of the day, the skill I value above all else is simply good communication.
